In 2024, the legislature eliminated parole and reduction in sentences for good behavior. While the DOC budget is over $1 billion, the Department recently lost lawsuits regarding unconstitutional medical and mental health care. Considering the moral and fiscal implications, how do you feel about the sentencing trends in our state?
